Here are two dozen or so original photos that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in or near Tipton, Pennsylvania, from 1963 through 1967. This particular "Tipton" is located just West of Tyrone on US Route 220. These color slides are presented in the order that I took them.

Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 9 June 1963. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7098 and #7248. Both are EFS-17M's built by EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7098 was built in November of 1956, but #7248 was built in October of 1959. In this context, they're pulling an 111-car mineral train from Altoona to Enola along with N-8 cabin car #478178.

Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 21 July 1963. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9862, #7231, and #7262. All were built by GM-EMD. #9862 is an EFP-15 built in July of 1952 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. #7231 and #7262 are EFS-17M's built in 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower each; #7231 was constructed in October, while #7262 was built in November. They're passing over the Crawford Avenue grade crossing with a mixed-cargo freight train on its way from Altoona to Enola.
