Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 5 January 1964. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5793, an unidentified E-8A unit, and #5881. All were built by GM-EMD. #5793 is an EP-22 built in June of 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #5881 is an EP-20 built in April of 1949 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. In this context, they're pulling an 18-car passenger train on its way from Altoona to Harrisburg. |
