PRR 5849, EP-20, 1964
Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 12 July 1964. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5849 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are EP-20's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5849 was built in August of 1947. This A-B-A set is pulling a 13-car passenger train from Altoona to Harrisburg. Note the on-coming freight train in the distance!
