Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 10 May 1964. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7189, an unidentified "B" unit, and engine #7059. All are EFS-17M's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7189 was built in November of 1957, but #7059 was built in October of 1956. They're about to cross Clearfield Avenue with a 50-car eastbound merchandise freight train and N-8 cabin car #478219. Visible at the right is a short stretch of the Bellwood-Tipton Road. Also note the on-coming passenger train in the distance. |
