PRR 5867, EP-20, #1 of 2, 1964
Tipton. Here is the first of two successive original photos that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 10 May 1964. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5867 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by EMD. #5867 is an EP-20 built in March of 1949 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. In this context, this A-B-A set is pulling an 8-car passenger train from Altoona to Harrisburg.
